ARTICLE 6
CITY ATTORNEY

Section 2-6-1. City Attorney--Appointment. The City Council shall appoint a City Attorney to serve at the pleasure of Council.

Section 2-6-2. Qualifications. The City Attorney shall be an attorney at law admitted to practice in the State of Colorado.

Section 2-6-3. Compensation. The City Council shall establish by resolution compensation for the City Attorney, which may be adjusted from time to time and which may include such consideration as salary, vacation time, sick leave, and any additional benefits which may be granted to classified employees of the City of Northglenn.

Section 2-6-4. Duties. The City Attorney shall be the legal representative of the City and he shall advise the City Council and City officials in matters relating to their official powers and duties and perform such other duties as Council may prescribe by ordinance or resolution.

Section 2-6-5. Personnel. The City Council may provide the City Attorney such additional assistants as the City Council may deem necessary, and may upon its own motion or upon request of the City Attorney in special cases, employ special counsel to serve under the direction of the City Attorney.
